***Planned Litters / Puppies***

Beautiful Leonora has welcomed her family. We have dog puppies available. Their sire is the stunning Luke (Bitcon Jackpot). So excited to watch them grow and develop.
This is her 2nd litter and once again she is an attentive, dedicated mum to her puppies. If you'd like to go on her puppy list please do get in touch. Leonora had her 1st litter in 2022 and feedback for her puppies has been incredibly positive. They are all much loved family dogs, love to carry a toy (or 2) and be the centre of attention like their mum. Luke, the sire of this litter is a handsome, gentle, soft natured lad who is also father of our youngest additions Dagmar and Dewey. (puppies from Leonora's aunt Zara).

Both the parents of our litters have been eye tested (for glaucoma predisposition, unaffected and are graded under the current BVA grading scheme. They are also tested clear for other eye anomalies) and hip scored under the BVA scheme which is a must for all our dogs, whether they are to be bred from or not. They are eye tested for PLA every 3 years under BVA recommendations. Knowing the status of their hips and eyes is important to plan out future matings. Our Flat Coats all have kind, gentle temperaments which are passed on to their puppies. We breed and occasionally show (time permitting) our Flat Coats as a serious hobby, a passion, not as a business.
We breed for our next generation and always aim to keep from our litters, very rarely does all the litter leave us.
Many people wait a long time to get a puppy from us, especially if they want one from a particular bitch.
In our eyes a bitch doesn't have to produce multiple litters to prove her worth. Our girls are matched to the best stud dog we can find that compliments her.
We rarely do repeat matings, in our eyes they offer very little to the gene pool.
All our Aricdell puppies are raised with love, hard work and with the best of everything. We do encourage people to come and meet us and the Aricdell girls if they are unsure if a Flat Coat is for them. Our extended family of Flat Coats are all here to be met and it lets all visitors see what we breed and what to expect an Aricdell puppy to mature into.
As we don't keep stud dogs ourselves, we take great care and time deciding on which stud dog to use, we strive to only use health tested, gentle stud dogs with kind temperaments of good type, which compliment our bitches. We have immense faith in what our girls can produce, in temperament, trainability and of course beautiful exteriors. The generations that have gone before them stand us in good stead to have the knowledge and understanding of our line.
Our puppies leave us with KC registration, microchipped, 5 generation KC pedigree, dated worming programme, supply of food, information on training, exercise and living with a Flat Coat.
We offer lifetime support for all our puppies. Always at the end of the phone or just an email away should you have any questions, however big or small.
Flat Coats are a superb life loving breed, they put their heart and soul into everything they do. An active very affectionate breed who thrive in the company of their families whether it be human or canine. They enjoy the company of their own breed very much.
Training from a young age is advisable as they become a big dog quickly, given patience and a gentle approach they pick up things very quickly. I'm sure some days out Flat Coats know what we’re thinking before we do! A very intelligent breed, when working they don't finish until all the game has been retrieved, or in the case of our own dogs when all the tennis balls have been collected! They love to get wet whether it be a clean stream or river or the muddiest pool they can find they love it!
Beautiful in every way the Flat Coat doesn't disappoint, a friend for life. Many lovers of the breed (ourselves included) have such a fondness of the breed that one isn't enough, and soon find themselves with another.
The best thing to do if you are interested in the Flat Coat, is get out there are meet some, chat to the owners/breeders. All lovers of this breed are always keen to speak about them, swap stories, doing that can really give you an insight as to what Flat Coats are like to live with and how they brighten the darkest of days with their antics! There is nothing more beautiful than a brace of Flat Coats be either liver or black.
We have been extremely lucky to have some of the very best show and working lines from the UK, Scandinavia and Europe in our Aricdell line. We always aim to produce capable dogs whether for the working field, the show ring or primarily as beloved family pets. We are not commercial breeders, with any litter we have we always have the view to keeping a puppy from the litter to progress our line. With all our planned litters they are carefully researched and thought out well in advance of our bitches being mated. Months if not years in some instances to make sure the combination is right, and progressing our line into its next stage. Researching bloodlines and choosing potential mates that compliment our bitches is an ongoing much loved task, investigating each stud dog and looking at not only what they may have produced but what is behind their breeding, what each stud dog we use brings to our line and planning out future pairings based on that. We have done many times (and will continue to do) take the opportunity to use a young unproven stud dog with our girls. We have also used stud dogs in their more mature years. Age is not an issue, the right dog is the right dog.
In many instances we'd rather not have a litter than use (in our eyes) the 'wrong' dog, as each litter we have is important to the future of our kennel. We also don’t take deposits on our puppies.
We have a fondness and appreciation towards the Scandinavian dogs, being able to keep these dogs in our line is important to us. More recently we have been able to include dogs of Czech breeding. Adding an interesting new strand of bloodlines to our line.
Our dogs are here for life, parting with them just isn't an option for us. They welcome the next generations, and truth be told the older ones bring a certain something to the group.
